# Active Audience Slots

Each Primer audience with a **Ready** status automatically updates every 7 days. This refreshes the audience data, ensuring any changes to your audiences get pushed into your ad campaigns. 

Once you build and finish an audience, the status will change to **Matching** status. This status includes a progress bar, allowing you to track the matching process in real-time and providing a countdown to indicate when the process will be completed.

Once matching is complete, the status will update to **Ready**, indicating that your audience is prepared and you can proceed with launching your campaign.

Each audience with a **Matching**, **Ready**, **Live** or **Incomplete** status consumes an active audience slot. Audience slots are limited by your plan. 

You can build unlimited drafts in Primer.

If you need to free an audience slot, you can archive a synced audience. We recommend archiving audiences that you don't need to keep updated. For example, audiences only used in point-in-time campaigns like a webinar promotion.
